This morning i had it on my mind to watch and score the Witherspoon vs Holmes fight so that is what i did. Ive just watched Douglas vs Tucker (boring as hell) and Tyson vs Pinklon Thomas.
Luis Ortiz vs Malik Scott. Possibly the best fight of all time. Unbelievable skill level on display. Ortiz's slick Cuban skills from a southpaw stance, and power shots, and Malik Scott showing incredible speed and defence, utilising the full size of the ring, even the floor at times, to avoid being hit. It was a special fight. I had Ortiz winning it by 1 point, but Scott showed that he is truly elite. Nash out.

Last night I finally watched James Toney vs Vasily Jirov. Have been wanting to get to this one for a while and now that I have, I can only say this: It’s the best Cruiserweight battle since Holyfield vs Qawi. Toney was the excellent counterpuncher we always expect him to be and Jirov’s effective aggression made this fight a hard one to judge while watching.
I believe the day before that, I watched the 2020 fight of the year, Jose Zepeda vs. Ivan Baranchyk. I was trying to temper my expectations going in, cause I had a feeling it was going to turn out that 2020 might have been a slow year for boxing and that this fight was only going to the most impressive out of a small batch. But nope! This is absolutely fight of the year worthy with tons of action packed into just five rounds! Give it a watch if you haven’t already.
And the night before THAT, I watched Kelly Pavlik vs. Jermain Taylor 1. This gave me a much better impression of The Ghost than the first fight I saw of him, which just so happened to be his loss against Sergio Martinez. He’s no crafty fighter by any means, but when he lands cleanly things get exciting.
