Back in my high school PE days, there's was a wrestling star who competed at 140 lbs. and I saw him max 280 lbs. But he was built and stocky for a guy 5'6". So while I it's very possible for a guy Darchinyan's size to lift over 250 lbs, I don't think he can based on his physique. Could be wrong, but I just don't see it.

I use weights, but not in conventional "pumping iron" sorts of ways, stuff like medicine ball throws, explosive stuff with varying weights, various circuit exercises etc

But obviously I can't confirm or deny anything, I might try and dig up the article for you

I have read that when he was 14 he could bench 300. I doubt he gets 500, but it wouldn't shock me if it were true.

Thats possible though. 140 is a significantly bigger than 115lbs.

I have a friend who was 140 lbs and he could bench press over 100kg, but he worked on a regular basis and his physique looked like he was capable of lifting that kind of weight, he was very heavily muscled, where is Darchinyan's muscle? the guy has a pigeon chest, if he worked out his chest would be a lot more defined and bigger.
