It looks as though they hadn't coined the term "Undisputed" just yet, going with "The World's Only Champion" instead.

This poster is dated 1891 so that is two years after the Great John L. dispatched Jake Kilrain. So that dispute was settled.

I guess they wanted to beat the point home. Very HBO of them. "We have the undisputed champion under contract." Over and over again they called Tyson.

Also I wonder if the popularity of the play was waning. This playbill states that Sullivan will also provide a three round sparing session at the end of the play.

Or possibly just the opposite. It was new and they were uncertain the crowds would come just for the singing.

I have seen other playbills and they don't mention any sparing.
