Briscoe challenged Hagler,,[not Halger, ] on the 24th of Aug 1978,which means he was 35 when he fought him.
Do you understand that?
The scores of the respective fights.
Monzon v Briscoe 149-143,150 -139,149-139.All for Monzon.
Hagler v Briscoe 48-43,49-43,47-44 . All for Hagler
The report of the Monzon v Briscoe first fight which was a draw.
"Briscoe was brought into Argentina to 'test' the rising Monzon and earned a draw in a fairly even defensive bout with infrequent exchanges."
No robbery there!
"not he wasn't" Halger, Birsoce.Halger.
And you've got the nerve to call others fools?
You illiterate chimpanzee.lol
"Halger beat the same man by wide UD"

I think you are a moron. How old was Birsose when Hagler beat him, and how green was Hagler? Answer this question!
Briscoe lost a lot and it is likely that Monzon recovered some home cooking in that match, which was in Argentina. Ya think? I can answer that question, you don't. You did not see the full match and continue to get the ages of the fighters wrong.
I see nothing wrong with Briscoe, that indicates he was shot. He won his last two fights coming into the match with Hagler. However he lost 3 of 5 coming into the match with Monzon and was very green himself.

He first fought Monzon on the 6th of May 1967 which means he was 24 years old ,with 23 fights under his belt,2 fights earlier he had stopped George Benton. Having had twenty three fights is not ,"very green".
Briscoe fought Monzon for his title on the 11th of Nov 1972 which means he was 29 years old.Monzon was 1 year older.
How many times do I have to post this before you finally understand it?
No I haven't seen the full first fight between Monzon and Briscoe, and neither have you,but I am not stating the draw decision was crooked am I?
The report of the fight on Box Rec states it was a competitive fight.See below;
"Briscoe was brought into Argentina to 'test' the rising Monzon and earned a draw in a fairly even defensive bout with infrequent exchanges."
Have you got a report of the fight that states Briscoe was robbed?
If you have post it!
How many ways do you think you can manage to misspell BRISCOE?
Your latest effort BIRSOSE was quite impressive ,similar to KAISER SOSE! LOL
Your question . How green was Hagler when he fought Briscoe?
My answer . Hagler had fought 43 fights!
ps Hagler fought ranked opponents 11 times. Monzon 13 times.Last edited by Ivich; 09-27-2023, 05:38 AM.Comment

Don't try to confuse to board with dates, you do this to muddy the waters after you make your initial wrong statement! It doesn't change what you said. Briscoe vs Moznon I is not on film. You haven't seen it. Briscoe said getting a draw in Argentina for a foreign born fighters like getting a win the USA. Or something very close to it.

I said Hagler fought ranked opponents11 times.I am of course referring to middleweights that he beat.
That is entirely different to what you have said ie
"Hagler only fought 11 ranked opponents".
Using the Rings end of year rankings for both Hagler and Monzon we have;
Hagler
Hamsho 81 no 6
Hamsho 84 no1
Obelmiajas 81 no4
Obelmijjas 84 no 6
Sibson 83 no3
Roldan 84 no5
Briscoe 78 no 4
Mugabi 86 no1
Hearns 85 no1
Antuofermo 81 no3
Minter 80 Champ
.Colbert 77 no1 I originally forgot him
Lee was not ranked.
Leonard was not ranked
Duran was not ranked at middleweight.
1
Ten Ranked Men Beaten By Hagler
Two of them twice
Total against beaten ranked opponents = Twelve
Monzon using the same criteria.
Fernandez 67 no6
Moyer72 no 3
Briscoe 72 no8
Benvenuti 70 Champ
Benvenuti 71 no 1
Griffith 71 no1
Griffith 73 no 1
Bouttier 72 no 4
Bouttier 73 no 4
Scott 71 no5
Licata 75 no 2
Tonna 75 no4
Valdes 76 no2
Valdes 77 no1
= Fourteen men
I didn't count Napoles as he was champion at a lower weight.
Close fights in Argentina are traditionally given as draws.Monzon has 6 earlier fights given as draws.Last edited by Ivich; 09-27-2023, 09:14 AM.Comment

You are better the second time when I said you need to check the ages. You wrote he was 34 which he obviously was not!

That link does not work
I never claimed to have seen the fight!
YOU are the one saying Briscoe was robbed.Close fights in Argentina are traditionally given as draws.
Monzon has 9 such draws on his record
Here are some examples from Monzon's opponents.
Massi 7 draws
J Aguilar11 draws
A Aguilar 11 draws
Selpa 30 Draws!!!
Severino 9 draws
Salinas 9 draws
Most of us already knew this was customary in Argentina, apparently you didn't!
Briscoe said it was as good as a win? Well, there's an unbiased source for you! lol
The only one getting confused here is YOU!Last edited by Ivich; 09-28-2023, 06:14 AM.Comment

No he wasn't 34, he was 35! LOL Six years older than he had been against Monzon and hence definitely NOT the same man!

In Argentina a forging born fighter is never going to get the nod over their man, especially the best man of their times. THINK.
Right, I correct you one the ages. You make tons of errors.
I claim you have never seen the full fight.
By the way captain spelling check, who is Mpnzon???
Are you still " pig " sick?Comment

The link works just fine. You should read it as it explains the Briscoe fight, and how it should have been scored by their papers. Small hint, Briscoe beat Monzon in the article by rounds scored in his opnion ... by a wide margin.

Do you seriously think Briscoe is an unbiased source? In a close fight of course he thought he won!
I have never claimed to have seen the full fight! That's 3 times I've said that now, can't you get someone to read and explain posts to you?
What does FORGING mean?
Still think 43 fight Hagler was green?
You're a joke!
I'm only pig sick of YOU, because you are a serial LIAR and HATER,and, like half a dozen other posters I am extremely glad Classic Boxing banned you for life!
McGrain actually got 3," thank yous," from posters for that!Comment
