Plus, Toney and Roy got caught in the early 00's right? They weren't even doing testing back when the announcers remarked "Holyfield gained 15 pounds of muscle between the second and third fight!" during the Holyfield/Bowe match.
Roy looked the part for the majority of his career, especially in his prime. It's far more likely that he was using his entire career and messed up a cycle once. He was called Roid Jones for a reason.

For Toney it's not hard to believe either. For somebody so lazy with his diet and discipline he obviously needed help with PEDS which are great for that.

Singling out Evander Holyfield has always been idiotic and I believe 9 out of 10 times it comes from bitter Mike Tyson fans. Who btw also obviously used PEDS his entire career unless you're naive. He admitted using a fake penis to pass drug tests, came up in the Golden era of HgH usage and even mentioned these type of drugs in interviews indicating a knowledge.

      >>> $$$.

A lot was invested in Holyfield in the 1990's and early 2000's. When Toney was busted for steroids at heavyweight, he was used up or so they thought at age 36. The Steroids made him better than he was.

Toney said, “Being accused of taking performance-enhancing substances is an insult to me. I don’t do drugs, period. I’ve never used any illegal substances to prepare myself for a fight.”

      Yeah James whatever...

Tony Daly, Toney’s Los Angeles surgeon who performed the operation on the fighter’s biceps, said he didn’t prescribe pregnenolone or nandrolone for the fighter.

“I’m not surprised to learn that he tested positive,” Daly said, “but I am disappointed. I’m not surprised because of the big weight gain. And he looked pretty darn muscular to me.”

Norm Stone, Ruiz’s trainer, said he wasn’t surprised by the test results either.

“I couldn’t believe Toney was still standing up in the later rounds of the fight,” Stone said by phone from Boston. “Johnny had him on the ropes, blasting him. There was no reason he was still standing up. I leaned over to [some people] in my corner and said, ‘This kid is on something.

        - - Roy and his opponent was busted in Indiana back in the proto primitive drug testing days. No public values or contaminates where mentioned by the Indiana commish, but Roy and his opponent both said they was using an over the counter health supplement that likely contained Andro and Creatine, not a legal bust.

No B sample was taken, so the Indiana commish let the matter drop which is much better than the usual boxing suspects littering the boxing landscapes who don't really follow boxing, but rather follow that pea that rattles round they empty noggins...

Right, tainted supplements. That excuse is still the main one fighters use today.

Roy was one of the most enhanced boxers of all time looking at all the tale signs. The positive PED result is the cherry on top.

And yet, I still don't consider him a "cheater".

Tyson looked very roided against Mitch Green... I wouldn't be surprised if he took em.

Did you ever see Mike breath heavy?...

Indirectly he did. One way of looking at it is he could train much harder and for longer and more often by using the PEDS. It made a very physically talented fighter almost superhuman in some ways.

Too bad it couldn't help his chin.

I wonder if Ruiz would have been more aggressive If knew how sensitive that chin was...

Strange that he wasn't allowed to punch Roy against the ropes in that fight... What rule exactly did that break? Foreman had rounds against Ali against the ropes.

So he was Lucky having the ref in his corner.

Wasn't he under some name when that lab got busted, under some alias that saw orders going to him. I think it was the Evan Fields controversy

Even if he was, where are you getting HGH from?
