Obvisouly Jack Johnson 's shady dealings owned some money! So the purse was confiscated and both fighters made nothing! Moran was hosed. He had to deal with Johnson numerous fouls and was a victim of Johnson's shenanigans.

STOP. The fight was a sham and Johnson did not even hire a lawyer to defend this " purse " . Did you read the link? Admit it, he made nothing for the Moran. It would not matter if he signed for $40,000

Johnson should have accepted the terms with Langford in 1913 - 1914 in France, and asked for a portion of the purse up front. Whatever the amount was / is reported to be offered, at least he would make some money! But we both know Johnson was scared of Langford.
