What do I have on Sharkey?
I have his biography written by his great grandaughter which includes his journals and scrap books.
I have the reports of his fights withJeffries,Fitsimmons,Corbett and Ruhlin from multiple contemporary ringside reporters,first hand newspaper accounts from the major papers that covered those fights ,not one single account from a journalist but multiple ones from those that were there.
I know what has been written by contemporary reporters about Jeffries,Fitz ,Ruhlin ,and Corbett,and what later authors have been able to find out by diligent research.
I've reports of his earlier fights.round by round descriptions of those fights,in some cases, how he fought and how well [or not, ]he did against his major opponents.
I believe that gives me a reasonable picture of the man and his modus operandi in the ring.
