I just watched the first round of Leonard/Benitez. They do indeed look like mirror images, the main difference being Leonard's lower left hand which he lets dangle like ol' Cassius Clay. Benitez who is doing very little in the way of punching, lost the round but still wanted to stare Leonard down like a fool at the end. I remember that as the pattern of the fight--Leonard out punching him and Benitez doing too little. I don't know if I can sit through this one again. Benitez was known for boring fights.

But live, it was an intense fight, like watching to cobras oscillate, ready to strike.
In the end little actually happened but you felt like you couldn't take your eyes off the screen for even a moment.
LOL I don't think I would watch it a second time, not enough happened to warrant a second viewing. Both were too good to allow the other to get into a zone, a rhythm.
The fight: a big let down, but not for a moment was I bored. Strange.

Watching this a second time around would certainly be boring (considering the way it played out.)

Stoppage with seconds left typical lowbrow boxing to secure the bets.

Early in the fight Leonard did not have to use much ring, because Benitez would not come after him anyway. Benitez stood in one place and pivoted and Leonard moved in a small circle around him. But as Benitez got desperate he pursued more but was basically ineffective, unless you are listening to Howard Cosel call the fight. He could look at one thing but see another.
As for that stoppage, I was always annoyed by it. But the clock tonight seemed to say there were ten seconds left when the ref stepped in. Leonard can hit a helpless man a lot of times in ten seconds.
