    - - Ali was forced overseas because boxing venues simply weren't equipped to deal with potential NOI violence.

Ex- Liston 1 almost canceled until Ali agrees to not reveal his NOI affiliation until after the fight and Malcolm agrees to leave town.

Ex2- Liston 2 in Lewistown, Maine, a backwater among backwaters with Ali stripped.

          - - Couldn't make the Terrell fight for the longest time as one example. Persona non grata with insurance companies who cover liability at these events.

              - - Ali had over a half dozen rematches, some trilogies, but drew an emphatic line against the Big George rematch.

Your impression. George took awhile to get going again. The delusions phase, the Fearsome Fivesome, the Lyle struggles...then, unexpectedly, San Juan.

                  - - My impression was formed in post fight Ring interviews and the Toronto Exhibition where Ali near has a heart attack screaming he won't ever rematch George

Did you know??..... that after Mike Rossman upset Victor Galindez for the WBA 175 pound title in Fall 78' they tried making him an Opponent for Ali after he regained his title from Leon? But then Ali announced that he would have no more the following June. A promise we all would like to have seen him keep.
