  • Freddie Roach: Best I've Trained ... and Best Answer

    From The Ring magazine:

Freddie Roach on “Best I’ve Trained”

    Virgil Hill: Best Jab, Smartest.
    Miguel Cotto: Best Defense.
Mike Tyson: Best Hand Speed, Best Puncher.
    Michael Moorer: Strongest.
Manny Pacquaio: Best Footwork, Best Overall.

What amused me was his pick for the question of Best Chin.
Freddie Roach answered … Freddie Roach.
“While doing mitts with Mike Tyson, Mike clipped me on the chin.
It started getting dark, but I didn’t go down!”

Michael Moorer was an assistant trainer to Freddie Roach for a while until he got fired for personality issues.

That's kind of a shame, it would have been beneficial to boxing if he could have passed on to the next generation his understanding of the Roach/Eddie Futch lineage combined with his Kronk background.

        - - Likely talking p4p strength. Freddie also been on a daily ever changing c0cktail of drugs to control his Parkinson's for most of his life.

Point being he ain't all there in his elder years.
