Prize fighters with great 'actual' names.

We have in past listed great fighter nicknames but there are also a few whose actual names fit the fight game so well.

Tyson Fury is a fantastic name for a fighter; it's kind of sad that Fury doesn't display the physical prowess or mean look one might expect to be attached to the name. I Kinda want to envision a guy who looks like a juiced up Holyfied walking to ring. Tyson Fury unfortionaly comes across a touch goofy.

Livingstone Bramble is another - pronounced Living Stone (and not Livingston) as in 'alive rock' the added sur name of Bramble which is described as an 'often thorned, rough, tangled, prickly shrub,' works nicely.

Any fighter named 'Rocky.' Not sure if it's in the word itself or a product of tradition. But no other sport really has room for a participant named 'Rocky.' That one belongs to us.

Can anyone think of any other fighters with names that seem to insist the kid grow up to be prize fighter?

P.S. DIGRESSION: Always wondered if that's what happened with Justice John Marshall Harlan and his grandson John Marshall Harlan II. Was great granddad Harlan using the name 'John Marshall' to set the boys up to be on the Court?

P.S.S. Sinclair Lewis' father named him after Upton Sinclair for socialist political reasons but in end created another literary 'debunker.'

P.S.S. How many kids right now are getting stuck with the ugly name . . . "Elon" or worst "Musk."

I'm not sure why you feel those names would begat a fighter, but it's a feeling type thing.

I do think that both James J.s used a middle initial in their names as a kind of tribute to the great John L.

I coulda said Cassius Marcellus Clay, but somehow Cassius M Clay don't turn the trick.

Always liked Primo Carnera and Max Baer and Joe Jeanette.

Went down in hail of gun fire. I wonder if he actually liked, at first, having to change his name (or else).

                - - Been a while, but thought Elijah had a big say in Muhammad Ali decision. Every 3rd ****** on the planet must have either Muhammad or Ali in his name I'd think.

He does not know what he is talking about, never has, never will. He listed a bunch of meaningless names, as usual.
