Go to the You Bet Your Life (Groucho Marx) episode with Rocky as the guest star and decide for yourself.

It's worth the effort you get to hear Rocky call his manger Al Weill a crook live on TV.

Worth noting people put on "TV voices" all the time. I'm assuming Burt was referencing Rocky's everyday casual speech.

Yeah, he must have talked very differently in person. Because while the interviews and appearances I’ve seen from online does show his is not deep by an stretch of the imagination, it’s not quite as high as Reynolds described it.

            - - Idiotic, nay banal topic.

Rock with a smooth midrange masculine voice well represented in the archives unlike the OP.

Na, Rocky was no voice trained actor - his voice on the show is his voice - there are multiple videos of Rocky speaking.

I bet Burt Reynolds never even met Rocky Marciano and that story was fabricated. Marciano had a pretty normal sounding voice...TS could have done a little fact checking first.

Isn't that a clip from a movie? Isn't that just a character Burt Reynolds is playing in some movie?

Yea it looks like one of those 'we're stars so let's sit around and talk because we can use the exposure.' Like Seinfeld's 'Commedians getting coffee' - truth was the show was almost never funny. -- But I did like the Robert Mitchum story.
