Why is it that voodoo is mocked and Christianity is sacred? In tenets both are mystical and completely dependent on faith and not fact.- If majority opinion makes one scared the the other a joke by sheer numbers alone Islam then makes Christianity a joke.

Of course I have given my opinion away but let me state it directly anyway, I think they are both mumble jumble and Fury to me sounds as childlike in his beliefs as Wilder. 'Washed in the blood of the lamb' sounds as silly as chicken blood when you come down to it.

whatever you make of christianity (atheist...ex theist here), i dont doubt its higher ideals.
Hoodoo incorporates evil/harmful elements on various levels. Firstly, it directly includes spells to destroy people. Secondly it also makes use of spirits (im not a materialist, the spirit world is real).

Now the concept of Jesus as the Son of God in its original form was a collective concept of the universal conciousness (not God) incarnated as a man. The Father was the equivalent of hinduisms Brahman ie the primordial essence.
So from the off, christianity is higher metaphysical.
Christianity is about forgoing individual conciousness and joining universal conciousness. It goes against our carnal nature.

hoodoo gives in to and serves lower metaphysics. Hoodoo is for primitive idiots who cant look past their own self.

My main problem with theism is that despite the best intentions, the core experience involving dieties, even "The God" eg yahweh/Allah, is a very poor reflection of my idea of the primordial power.
i believe when humans aspired to know their higher nature, the monkey mind came as a 'God' or angels to keep humans locked in 'story mode' obsessed with their past and future. Rather than live life in the present, how its meant to be lived.

Taoist and buddhist philosophies make the most sense to me but i still respect theists when theyre good ppl. It just means theyre ignorant of the true nature of things.
