Kenny (as I used to call him) greatly influenced an impressionable youthful Tim Witherspoons style. One time we were all partying at studio 54 and they were both wearing full length green mink coats and viking helmuts, oh how Tim admired Kenny's style!

Hey champ! the first time I remember seeing this guard was with Archie Moore. To your recollection, can you think of an earlier fighter using it as consistently, regularly as the MOngoose?

Fullmer was another practitioner of the log cabin defense.. Moore was one of the smaller-armed boxers that made it work for him. Skinny men seldom if ever use it.

A Polish fighter invented the "hands Up" guard where you put the hands over the head like you are getting robbed... It never gained much traction for some reason.
