Mike Tyson is the most overrated boxer ever

Don't get me wrong he's an all time great but he is ridiculously overrated.

He cleaned out the division in the late 80s but it was a weak era. Unlike Wlad and Larry his run was short. He beat Larry Holmes coming out of retirement. He beat Michael Spinks in impressive fashion but Spinks is a all time great light heavyweight, not heavyweight.

He got upset by Buster Douglas and save me with the "Past his prime" talk cause he was 23.

He had some good wins after and regained the title but lost his career defining fight with Evander Holyfield.... TWICE.

He had some decent wins after but never got the title back.

He's extremely overrated, especially by casuals who say he's the best heavyweight ever .He's not even the best heavyweight of his era. Evander Holyfield is.

And this whole "Prime Tyson beats anyone ever head to head" is nonsense. No he wouldn't.

He had one mode. No ability to adjust. He's a Cus Damato pre programmed robot.

He's overrated when people say best heavyweight ever or top 5 boxer of all time. Which unfortunately is many people. You can be an all time great and be overrated.

At one time he was extremely overrated. But he was overrated for so long and so loudly by the nuthuggers that he's now criminally UNDERRATED by everyone else.

I totally understand this take and I underrated him for a while myself.

Tyson proved he shìts through a meat ăsshole. Does that make him so bad? The man could probably beat four featherweights prime-wise.

Holyfield is an ATG who is considered better than Tyson by many, yet he was destroyed by a former MIDDLEWEIGHT in James Toney. How do you like that?

Right. But Bernard Hopkins and George Foreman would call that a young age.

This aside, then why a fading Holyfield is justified in his worst defeats, while Tyson haters keep mentioning the Lewis, Williams and McBride fights as valid proofs of Mike's inability, when everybody knows that he was completely deteriorated as a fighter and as a man in that moment?
