Did Roldan have Hagler in trouble before the thumb?

Just after Hagler passed away Leonard or Bob Arum were interviewed and they said Leonard was pushing hard for a rematch along with Arum. Hagler told Arum "tell Ray to get a life" or something like that. From what I remember Hagler announced his retirement soon after the Leonard fight and said he was done with boxing and he kept his word. In today's era at 32 years old a fighter would have another retirement before he called it quits for good. I don't know if Hagler tried to get a rematch before Leonard wanted as you recall, but I don't see Hagler doing that and if he did I am sure Leonard and Arum would have made the fight.Comment

Ray retired immediately. Marv held out a year trying to make the only fight he wanted, the lucrative rematch.
Marv announced his retirement after that year, and Ray immediately jumps out of retirement challenging Marv who was done and dusted with Ray monkeybiz that saw umpteen Ray diva retirements and dubious ol'timer returns that culminates in the regrettable KO highlight by featherweight Macho to finish Ray for once and forever.
What grade U in now? Ever make it to 3rd grade?Comment

Life outside the internet must be difficult for you. Thankfully there is a place those like you and God forbid the world won't see you out somewhere as an active shooter when you fully understand you are a reject from society.
Leonard didn't retire, he just wanted more money to fight and that was his idea to get it. Nobody who could make that kind money retires at 30. All the boxing experts knew Leonard would fight again and with Hagler many thought he was retired well before he announced it publicly. Hagler wanted to retire after the Hearns and Mugabi fights. Most thought he fought those last fights to put more food on the table for the Petronelli brothers who trained and managed him his whole career.Comment
