Better fighter, better career?

    Better fighter, better career?

    Both of these guys were very disappointing considering their size and the hype that surrounded them early in their careers. But who was the better fighter, and did he have the better career, Jameel McCline or Micheal Grant? Discuss.

    As far as careers go, factor in that McCline beat Grant, and it's pretty even. Otherwise, definitely Grant.

    As far as skills go, McCline was game against better opponents, despite losing.

      I agree with your assessment. I also believe McCline had the bigger heart

        On a lighter note Jab, who do you think was the better prize fighter, Alonzo Highsmith or Ed Too Tall Jones?

            Mccline grant never got a title or at least i dont think he did

              Highsmith had the better boxing career. But as a life long, die hard Cowboys fan, I can give no other answer than to say Jones would beat him head to head. If I did, I would have to take my shoe laces out and hang myself.

              Ps-I've never actually seen Jones fight, but this is my final answer. I am totally UNobjective when it comes to anything to do with Dallas.

                Only Jones' pro debut was televised against a journeyman named Yaqui Meneses. Jones dominated the first four rounds, got hurt in the fifth round, and held on for dear life in the sixth and final round. His next five fights were not televised. Maybe youtube has some footage of his pro debut. I think if Too Tall had not taken time off to box he'd be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

                  Probably, but he was a bit over shadowed (no pun intended) by the Cowboys hellacious defense and names like Harvey Martin and Randy white. Great player though. I'll look for that fight on youtube.

                    That doomsday defense was one of the best ever, including my personal favorite Cowboys Cliff Harris and Hollywood Henderson. Harris and Martin also belong in the Hall of Fame.
