Pep sure wasn't the typical Italian-American fighter, then again neither was Canzoneri. I think there are many similarities between the two although Canzoneri did more showboating.

Italians have always been in a variety of sports. Even when they were in boxing, many great Italian athletes in baseball.

      For example:

One of the greatest baseball players of All Time: Joe DiMaggio

But overall, Italian-Americans have been able to branch out in other fields in America...in the Medical field, Political field, Entertainment, etc.

World War II may have been one of the biggest ice-breakers for the American culture. When you fight together, you can live together.

      Long list:

      Don't forget the women either:

      Bella

      Gina Carano

My favorite, despite him not being an ATG as far as skilled talent, is still Gatti. I loved watching Gatti fight.
      Note: Gatti was actually "Italian."
Born in Italy...raised in Canada from a boy.

Pep may be the most talented although there is such a long list to choose from.
Marciano, P4P, also has to be looked at.

Hahaha...yeah. Sounds weird when you put it that way but she was a HUGE STAR that could out-shine him I guess.

I appreciate you trying to cover, but there is no excuse for me. I had met this man and covered much of his career. Ain't a big thing, but its a brain fart I didn't expect to make.
