Just reading an awesome novel about small town boxers: Fat City by Leonard Gardner. Brilliant stuff.

The way he captures the desperation and hopelessness of life at the bottom is unparalleled in any book I've read.

Highly recommend this book, written by someone who used to post heavily on another boxing forum and a few times on this one. The cover has had a revamp to appeal to a wider audience but it is easily the most comprehensive book on boxings history that I have read.

Just out of interest has anyone read any of the "In the Ring With.." books by Adam J. Pollack?
