Pacquiao is much better Boxer from long range than Duran, and Duran was much better at slipping punches. I guess it depends on which Duran you are talking about though.

Duran that fought Ortiz,Fernandez,De Jesus 1 was a little animal and he got a bit wild at times when he let his aggression consume him, so i can see where you going with it there because Pac is extremely wild when he lets it hang out, there was a point in that fight where Hatton's back hit the ropes and Pac went old school wild on him for a split second.

Funnily enough i was watching Duran vs Sims last night.
I'm thinking specifically Prime Duran (ie. at Lightweight). That Duran brought an intensity I'm seeing in Pacman no, as well as grossly underrated boxing skills which Pacman is likewise starting to show. I'm also thinking of simularities in styles too.

      In that sense yeah.

I agree there, Pacquiao's Boxing skills have improved dramatically.

One thing i noticed about Pac in his fight with Diaz and Hatton is the counter uppercut he has developed, i never noticed it before.

other than the hair, the importance to their countrymen, ferociousness, boxing decorations, weight class jumping, i dont see the fighting style similarities.

Pacquiao is a southpaw with in & out movement & speed & power. Pac doesnt feint enough like duran & rarely does inside fighting.

both legendary fightes tho in their own right.

I thought the exact same thing, only Pacquiao moves more, Duran likes to trade a bit more. The quick step back and fire really resembles Duran as well. Roaches favorite fighter was Duran go figure.

It's been a while since we have seen some great moves that Duran pulled, this will be why Pacquiao will pound Mayweather, as to would Duran.

Pacquiao doesn't fight inside but he certainly feints, thats half of his game plan. He used feints a lot even when he was fighting at 126.

I don't really see the similarites; personally I think Duran does everything better than Manny no disrespect to the Pacman. But who knows maybe it was a conscience effort by Freddie Roach to have Pac try and emulate that style

2:49 in this video Freddie talks about a mythical match up against Duran and how Roberto is his favorite fighter
