In his comeback his legs would tire to the point where he had to trade and take punches he wouldn't have before. The whole idea you are presenting is lacking because it goes against well known fact.

why are you posting that? throughout that entire fight he is using almost constant lateral movement..circling and hitting.

In the video I posted he was standing still and taking body punishment.

        This is what you said:

          Exactly.

Throughout his enitre career Ali had trouble with close quarter pressuring fighters that could match or even exceed his workrate over 15 rounds. He didn't always lose to them because he was so damn durable and could pile on the punches himself but they certainly gave him problems, especially effective high volume body punchers. That's why Chuvalo, Norton, and Frazier did better than Liston, Foreman, and even a fighter as big and skilled as Terrell.

I think Smoking Joe would have always been a hard fight for him.

Ali won 2 of the 3 fights. Period.

            I'm a huge Frazier fan.

And being the Frazier fan I am, I sometimes like to think of what would have occured, had Eddie Futch not stopped the 3rd and final fight when he did.

Ali himself has since went on record and said that he could not continue any further, and he wouldn't fight the final round.

Whether or not Angelo Dundee would've let him make that decision, is an entirely different conversation.

But facts are facts : And as much as I love Joe, Ali won 2 out of their 3 fights.

The fights were hard to score. I score them a little different every time I look at them. Ali landed more punches, Frazier the harder punches.

For trilogies, I think Gans-Nelson was hard to beat. They fought a total of 80 rounds in three fights--a lot of action.
