  • Carlos Monzon vs Jake LaMotta. Who Takes This Dream Match Up.

Who takes this dream fight at Middlweight?

    .A 1972 Carlos Monzon vs A 1940 Jake Lamotta.

Would Lamotta's clever pressure fighting and cast iron chin be enough to derail the calm counterpunching/boxer/puncher genius Carlos Monzon???

Here's highlights of both fighters, just to refresh you memorey and so you can have a good look at both fighters strength and weakness.

And decide who would come out on TOP in this DREAM MATCH UP!

I'm gonna say Monzon because Lamotta is a smaller middleweight with below average punching power, Monzon is tough, good power good boxing skills. Lamotta has a degree of skill of his own but I think Monzon wins this.

Monzon would control the pace and win by decision. LaMotta, contrary to popular image, was not a puncher so he would have little chance.

Bad match-up for LaMotta I'd say. On his best night and on Monzon's worst he could possibly outwork Carlos to a decision (Briscoe almost did it once) but Monzon was so effective at using height and reach to his full advantage.

LaMotta's rushes would be met with jabs and rights but I don't see Monzon putting LaMotta down for the count. It would go to a 15 round decision.

I do think that LaMotta was better than Briscoe and Monzon called Briscoe the toughest opponent he ever fought.
