A fight between Bowe and Lewis was actually supposed to happen several times.

Bowe threw the WBC title in the trashcan the first time but the second time Lewis got himself knocked out by Oliver McCall. The third time the fight was about to be made Bowe took two beatings from Golota and retired.

Then again Tyrell Biggs beat Lennox Lewis in the amateurs but was destroyed by Lewis in the pros.

But I believe Lewis would've beaten Bowe if the two had ever fought (except maybe when the fight was first suggested).

If Lewis fights to his full potential he is very, very difficult to beat (I can't see Marciano receiving anything more than a beatdown).

Getting him fighting to full potential is another question. One which Manny Steward tore his hair out over.
