Im sure you could find something if you kept looking. I tried a search last night with the words "A killing at the Mustang" and came up with squat. I gotta run right this second but will be back shortly and I'll try to find something for you.

He had his most success backing up and fighting off the ropes against Frazier and Chuvalo. You could make the case that he was the only man to knock Chuvalo down although it wasn't called (it was both a punch and a push, Chuvalo however was noticeably hurt).
Agreed, i haven't seen his first fight with Frazier in about a year but i remember he tried boxing a bit more( a fight i had him winning) and was doing well inside, he also dropped Frazier twice. I think the first knock down came from a left jab right hand and the second one came from a left hook.

Thanks, I'll try to find something in the meantime. Its a shame how Bonevena rarely gets mentioned on any forums, even the ones at ESB.

I hate jerking off to these ****** fantasy match-ups, but I'll throw in my 2 cents:

Oscar would have been a worthy adversary, but I think Marciano with his warrier mentality would have found a way to win. He would have worn the bigger man down with his relentless body assault, his imperviousness to pain, and his superior conditioning. The Rock might be off his feet once or twice in this bout, but like the mythical Antaeus (and Joe Frazier), he would leap back into the fray stronger and more determined than ever.

Countless fighters including Oscar would of gone undefeated if they fought the bums Marciano fought. Marciano isn't a top 10 anthing , well he is 1 of the top ten most overrated fighters in boxing history. If Oscar could walk through Frazier punches then why would't he be able to walk through a smaller less skill fighter and weaker fighter like Marciano? Bonavena was a true 215 pound heavyweight and Marciano was some 180 to 185 cruiserweight.

Oscar would knock out Maricano in no more than 3 rounds.

You'll probably have a succesful posting career in NSB. But not in the history forum.
