To me he is the greatest mexican fighter or all time even with a shortened career. He had everything most mexican fighter lack with the heart of a lion.Comment

He did a lot in a short period of time, but not enough to be mentioned among the greatest ever IMO.Comment

IF is the middle word in LIFE. But in this case, I think he would obviously have become better and would have given us many more classics.Comment

holy crap, i just watched a highlight vid of his plus his stoppage of lopez, gomez, and nelson.....he was awesome.....shame he died at 23...just an all round great fighter, and even with a short career he achieved more in like 5 or 6 years than other guys did in like 15 years...
I just retired & have been a fan for over 50 years and the 4 greatest fighters I ever witnesed were.
Salvatore Sanchez
Roberto Duran
Mohammed Ali
Ray Robinson
Sanchez was unbeatable I remember before he fought Wilfredo Gomez he said "How in the world can they make him the favorite over me" I think Gomez was 47-0 at fightime. I looked up Sanchez record & it said he did have 1 loss, that is hard to imagine.Comment
