Micky Ward is one tough S.O.B as well! They had a doco on HBO of him after Gatti 'WAR' getting checked out by Doctor and he got hit 350+ times in 36 minutes!!! His face was a mess! He's also a VERY good man. James 'Lights Out' Toney has one of the hardest heads of 'All Time'! The guy's only really been dropped once in 70 pro fights against Reggie Johnson. Forget about Sam PeterII and Jones fight where Toney slipped. Toney taskes chopping shots to the head and then talks to his corner like nothing's happened and even smiles at his opponent and encourages them for some more!lol
Toney's chin's been tested from Middleweight all the way thru to Heavyweight and no one's been able to dent it!
I cannot believe no one's mentioned Harry "The Pittsburgh Windmill" Greb! Nothing could stop this 'Warrior'! He had 300+ pro fights and no fighter on the planet could ko Greb from Welterweight to Heavyweight. There's not many other fighter in Boxing History who can lay claim to this! James Toney's the only other fighter who's gone from Middle to Heavyweight and only been dropped once against Reggie Johnson, (pushed against Jones and slipped against Peter). Bob Fitzsimmons too! Greb without doubt had one of if not the hardest head in Boxing History and needed to because of his 'swarming' style throwing punches 'flat out'!

That's a great point and to be honest, Harry never came up in my mind when I was thinking of fighters who seemed qualified for inclusion here. And he is one of my all time favorites fighters also. Very good point. Too soon to rep you again.
Fighters I've seen:
Tex Cobb
Oliver McCall
David Tua
Marvin Hagler
James Toney
Valuev looks like he'd be impossible to stop, but I need to see him against better opposition first.

** Agreed that Toney is cast iron, but Jones and Peter were not slips.
He was driven backwards faster than his chubby little legs can power him with solid shots. Jones was the best, a left hook as he caught Toney aping Jones' feints. Toney popped halfway across the ring and lucky not to be KOed by the turnbuckle like Hatton was. I've never seen a greater differential in class between prime HOFers. Jones A+++ and Toney F-.
Peter just a simple jab that scrambles Toney's legs. Rahman did the same thing, but the ropes saved Toney from the KD.
Toney is turning into a modern day 300lb Joe Grimm. Time to either read him the riot act or secure a lifetime supply of xxxxl Depends and bibs.
Hearns broke his right hand when he punched Hagler with it. Hagler was only down once and was never stopped.
JCC had a thicker skull than most people. The first time he went down was after almost 90 fights.
'Tex' Cobb took shots from the hardest (and at that time the oldest) puncher of all time Earnie Shavers. Went the distance with Holmes in a brutally one-sided fight.
Muhammed Ali took shots from Liston, Frazier, Foreman and Shavers.
Only stopped as an old man against Holmes but never knocked out.
Chuvalo was never knocked down and took vicious beatings from both Frazier and Foreman.
Lamotta was never down against Ray Robinson, he was stopped 4 times, one a fix again Billy Fox, one a fight against Robinson, twice retiring in his corner as an old man.
Joe Grim was a punching bag for the best heavyweight's of the early 1900's.
I see you mentioned JOE GRIM. That's who i was going to suggest. I've read a short biography and many of his fights were mentioned. there's NO DOUBT but that HE had the hardest head and chin ever. He was knocked down, but always (except for once), GOT UP. He fought them all, top fighters included, like Jack Johnson. He had hundreds of fights many not recorded.
