The Heavyweight Divsion doesn't lack talent it lacks good trainers

I am sure a lot of you believe that the heavyweight divsion is very weak and that there are no good fighters in it . Also i am sure you have attributed the lack of good fighters to a lack of talent but i dont think thats the problem at all . I believe a fighter is only as good as his trainer . If talented fighters like sam peter, david tua, lamon brewster, alexander dimentriko arent showbasic skills like parrying , blocking, slipping the jab, head movement , body punching , working you way in off the jab , using footwork to set up combinntions then what hope do they have of ever becoming competent boxers.

I'm not sure its a lack of good trainers as much as it is a lack of a amatuer experience at times. Before, fighters would step into the pro ranks with hundreds of amatuer fights under their belts making them relatively seasoned fighters by they time they turned professional.

I don't think thats the case anymore.

I dont think there is any credibility in the Division and people have lost all interest in watching it.....The heavyweight division is dead and it will take a lot more than top quality trainors to put it right.....

yea a lot of fighter's nowadays aren't very unique, they all tend to fight the same. they need to go down to 3rd world countries and places like the bronx..etc generally places that will house young fighters that would do anything to evade poverty. I mean look at Manny Pacquaio, he's a crazy mofo who would give any era a run for their money. your average kid thats "been taking boxing for years" still won't have a killer instinct to beat the crap out of his opponent.

it isnt for the american heavy's moreso. Euro Guys like Povetkin, Dimitrenko, etc all have extensive amateur backgrounds and i think that has helped them in the pros quite a bit.
