No, but it would have. My trainer at the time had fought for the Petronelli's years before. They called him looking for sparring but failed to mention who it would be with. I was still a pretty green amateur and when we got there and found out my trainer said no way. I was willing to do it, but I would have gotten destroyed. We did work out together and he gave me pointers and cheered me on as I worked out. Robbie Simms was there as well. He didn't want to talk to anybody. It was a good experience and something I remember fondly, but nothing I could even lie to myself about. Many people don't realize the vast difference between a world class fighter. You learn it pretty quickly when watching them in person.

Look at how bad he looks at 3:14 trying to hit the speed bag. Or his slurred speech throughout. It also discusses the criminality of the medical report and the thyroid medicine Ali was taking to make the weight.

The boxing commissions were never more splintered during the 80’s. It was the start of boxing really being run as a business. The commissions fostered the idea that the boxing public would buy the idea of many multiple champions so that’s what they did. More championship bouts provided more revenues to the commissions. The last thing they wanted were unification bouts.

No.....Your opinion is not expert opinion. When trainers and historians universally rate a fighter as an ATG there is a reason why. Your comments drip with hatred for some reason against Holmes. I was never a great Holmes supporter but refuse to taint my opinion. I’ll ask you again please name all the historians and trainers that do not rate Holmes very highly. If your opinion has any real weight a preponderance of experts should back you up. They don’t because your emotions have tainted your opinion.
