Why has no-one mentioned Streets Of Gold?

    Great film.

Seem to remember a pretty good film about a journeyman, with Mickey Rourke playing the lead. Very gritty film, much more realistic than most.
Think it had Daryl Hannah in it as well.

Undisciplined wildman contender finally gets a shot at the big time against a top contender without much of a chin, really trains seriously for once in his life, & gets the guy in big trouble.
But he can't finish him - the guy recovers & beats the **** out of him.

      Anyone remember the name?

Fighting Tommy Riley is a great movie for not having any top of the line actors in it.

I suggest picking it up... cause it will be cheap

There was an old B&W film where a manager and boxer goes into the military together, or so he thinks. In actuality the boxer does not go in and some guy steals him out from under the manager in the military. Anyway, the manager gets out of the military and manages this new guy and ends up fighting his previous boxer for the title. Anyone know the name of that one?

Raging bull without a shadow of doubt. De Niro really got into his role as Lamotta and gave an amazing performance.
