I'm an even 6' tall. I'm in excellent shape if I'm 220. Here's a picture with me and Marvis Frazier who is listed on boxrec at 6'2.

Maybe having Mason Dixon being likeable was an attempt by Stallone to capture some of what the first movie had with the additional recurring theme of Rocky still being a winner despite losing the fight.
Actually I agree with you about Creed. Yeh, I saw a lot of comparisons with the first film and in my opinion it made it better.

No problem. Thanks for putting so much hard work into a really informative website about one of my favorite fighters.

In any event a good read for those who want some more insight to Baer as a fighter and man and a rarity for an apparent profit free website, several rounds of free downloads.

Did you know Baer's grandfather was named Achille?
Thanks Sabbath. After I saw Opie's movie I found I just couldn't let the bull**** spread across cyberspace. I must've spent the first couple weeks of the 6 months I spent on this project wading through misinformation online based purely on the movie's content.

I'm a woman on a mission, and ain't that a dangerous thing ! I bought the domain with the .org ending because somebody else had already bought .com and .net. Its curious that websites don't exist at either URL. I suspect after the movie the domain owners thought they'd make a buck on someone's monetary offer.

At any rate, yep my aim is to set the record straight with words, and expose people to the allure that was Max Baer with the photos and clips. I have no plans to make a buck off the site. Now if I won the lottery and had the luxury to sit down and write a book, that would be a distinct possibility.

            Thanks for the kudos,
            Cat

Cat, how old are you and why the passion for Baer?

42 and I grew up watching Ali, Foreman, Frazier, et all in the 70s. I remember how the commentators would discuss Baer vs. Foreman's technique and Baer vs. Ali's showmanship. I'm also a classic movie buff and have watched Baer in The Prizefighter and the Lady and The Harder They Fall, so put it all together and as soon as I watched Opie's movie I knew it was a gross misrepresentation.

Months went by and the lies spread across the internet and my anger just wouldn't go away. I'm a real stickler for right and wrong and this was just so plain wrong. My background is web design/graphic design/writer/researcher, so I put all my skills to the test creating this website. I'm also guilty of wanting to have all the bits and pieces in one place so I can read them and view them myself !

I've been completely humbled with the avalanche of interest and enthusiasm my site has produced, and delirious that what I set out to do, to educate people about what made Max Baer tick, is finally happening.

Soooo, did the passion come across just now ? I admit to getting wound up on the subject !

                  Regards,
                  Cat

Okay I admit I didn't go into the research thinking he was hot but after awhile I started having extremely nasty thoughts about him. I definitely wouldn't throw him out of bed for cracker crumbs or farting out of turn. I get a kick out of a post on CBZ that said the potrayal of Max in Opie's movie was dead on cuz he had affairs with married women. Horrors ! Nobody was holding a gun to these ladies' heads. For godsake, he was in his early 20s, rich, good looking, a raging hormone and could charm the birds from the trees. Tell me what guy in the same situation wouldn't embrace everything he was being offered with wide open arms.
