Did you know Baer's grandfather was named Achille?Last edited by SABBATH; 01-23-2007, 08:39 PM.

And on the subject of Baer, I didn't like the way Cinderella man portrayed him, but like someone said on a different thread, it was just really to have a good vs. evil theme in the film, which Hollywood loves.

You're right about the Hollywood good vs evil theme which has always been a constant in damn near every boxing movie although I liked how "Rocky Balboa" broke the mold and portrayed Mason Dixon as a likeable and decent guy as opposed to Ivan Drago and Clubber Lang. The movie still ****** a bit though.

I liked Rocky Balboa, and your right about Dixon being the only really likeable Rocky opponent apart from Creed. (who only became likeable in number 3)

He was obviously molded on Ali as Rocky was on Wepner. Maybe having Mason Dixon being likeable was an attempt by Stallone to capture some of what the first movie had with the additional recurring theme of Rocky still being a winner despite losing the fight.
