As far as Morrison goes, i think it could go either way, Tyson was coming off a 4 year lay off and was rusty as hell, Morrison wasn't at his best annymore, but could still be dangerous.
Obviously Morrison would've given Tyson more trouble than McNeeley could but the outcome would have still been a win for Tyson.

i think a lot of the reason for stopping the fight so quick was ( maybe ) his corner had thoughts of ged mclellan and jimmy garcia on their minds...his corner knew the devastation of what was to come and knew mcneeley wouldnt last the round

IMO he wasnt badly hurt, and if they really believed in him they would of let him continue. Even if it looked like he was about to get KTFO, boxing is a warriors sport, and if he is fit to continue, he should be allowed to.

Its not like he had taken a severe beating for 10 rounds. Tyson had never killed or permenantly damaged anyone. McKneely took only about 4 punches, they should NOT of stepped in.

i totally agree with you about boxing being a warriors sport...maybe his corner were quite happy with gettin the purse and gettin the hell out of there with as little damage done to their boy as possible

I agree; he wasn't hurt that badly. He was dizzy until about the count of 4 or 5, but his corner probably wanted to get paid and get out without bleeding. I think that if McNeeley wanted to go on, he should have been allowed to test what Mike had in him after four years off.

I did just watch Tyson vs. Holyfield II again. I still don't understand why he bit him. Nothing but respect for each other leading into the fight. Mike was clearly winning round 3 with combos, stunning Holy twice....urgh...

Anyway, yeah, McNeeley should have been allowed one more try. One more knockdown would have ended it anyway, and he wasn't getting hurt too badly.

It was strange to see a glimpse of the Ol' Cus/Rooney Tyson, not only during the third round of Holyfield II (before the bite), but also before the fight when he was commending Holyfield for beating him the first time and asking for a rematch. He was bipolar when it came to class and boxing.

The crowd even started chanting "TYSON! TYSON!" during the third round when he landed a few combos. It was clear that Tyson fighting his prime-style fight was simply too much for Evander. A few, quick combos and some head movement, and Holyfield started to get the look of uncertainty. What a difference in Mike's career that fight would have been.

Anyway, I think we've discussed McNeeley enough. This thread can be closed if need be.
