"Mike Tyson made a disturbing start to his six-year sentence and, within a matter of weeks, had lost his first major fight with the Indiana prison system. He was placed in solitary confinement in the disciplinary unit at the Indiana Youth Center after getting himself involved in a bust-up with a guard.

It was leaked to the press by another inmate that Tyson had threatened to "whup" a guard, who had shouted at him to keep moving when he stopped to shake hands with a fellow prisoner. Eight other guards closed in on Tyson and he was taken to the disciplinary unit, segretated from all the other prisoners. When taken to the supervisor's office, Tyson lost his temper again and became belligerent after dis*****g the guard's version of the incident.

Prisoner 922335 was charged with disorderly conduct at a disciplinary hearing, and pleaded guilty to threatening a guard with bodily harm. He was sentenced to 30 days' loss of commision and also 30 days' loss of special privileges. The prison superintendant stressed to Tyson that it didn't matter who he was or how much he was worth, the system could put him in a solitary cell and forget him for the next six years, and if he stil caused trouble, it could accommadate him with some extra time."

This above story, and the other one posted, are the only two "incidents" Gutteridge talks about from Tyson's prison time, but his book does have about twelve pages of info on Mike when he was in prison, which includes info on Tyson's daily excercising, his prison job working in the gym/excercise area, the amount of books & education he read/recieved, his thoughts on Islam, etc., etc....

P.S. Sorry for the delay in posting that, by the way, and I have to thank you for your donation, as well.

Cool, if you got anymore Id love to hear them to.

    Thanks!

That's the only two incidents (scuffles, fights, etc.) that Gutteridge speaks about in his book, guys, as well as the only two incidents that I am aware of via any other source, so...

Unless you're looking for info on what books Tyson read in prison or some other boring **** of that nature, then I'm afraid I've given everything I can in regards to the theme of the thread.

"Tyson came out of jail in one piece, despite Don King's fears that he would get cut up by organized gangs. But it was touch and go. He managed to stay out of serious trouble until the Christmas before his release when he got drawn into an incident that could have blown his chances of an early parole. Through no fault of his own, he got involved with a notorious gang leader who objected to him giving away presents of food and cigarettes to inmates because it cut across his contraband business. We would have loved to have been flies on the wall as spectators of what happened next. It would have been worth top ringside seat money.

The gang boss, a mountain of a man, confronted Tyson, who knocked him flat out with one punch. It sparked a brawl between supporters of Tyson and the gang leader. Guards broke it up, and Tyson was cleared of any blame for the incident."

Gutteridge also speaks of an incident during Tyson's first few weeks in prison, when Tyson apparently threatened to "whup" a guard, only to see a group of eight guards take him down and hall him away to solitary confinement...

Will quote that story from Gutteridge if anybody's interested, but those were the basics.
