Broadcast analyst for Premier Boxing Champions, BJ Flores, believes British star Amir Khan should stay quiet, sit back and allow the major fights to come to him.

Khan has been very vocal for the last two to three years in his pursuit of Floyd Mayweather Jr. The fight never happened as Khan repeatedly got passed over, and Mayweather announced his retirement last month after winning a decision over Andre Berto.

At the moment, Khan is one of the few candidates in the running to fight Manny Pacquiao in his final career fight, which is being targeted for the first quarter of 2016. Khan and Pacquiao were sparring partners and trained side by side when both men were under the tutelage of trainer Freddie Roach.

"I think the main thing is that Amir is a very good fighter but he’s gotta remember against Floyd and against Manny, he’s the B side, so it doesn’t always happen on his terms. When they’re ready to decide when it is, then he’s gotta sit back and play cool and not make it like he’s the one controlling everything because he’s not," Flores told On The Ropes Boxing Radio .

Members of Mayweather's entourage claim the unbeaten boxer refused to fight Khan because he felt he "talked too much." Others claim Mayweather became agitated when Khan threw down a deadline for a deal to get reached.

"Manny fights who he wants to fight and Floyd fights who he wants to fight. Amir is on the B side trying to act like he gets to make all the decisions and that’s his prerogative if he wants to but I think he’s cost himself some fights by doing that, by jumping the gun a little early," Flores said.

"Amir should just be quiet and see what happens and take it if he gets an offer, and if he doesn’t then he can make another move. He always tries to make it like it’s not happening on his time or it’s not enough, but he’s forgetting he’s the B side of those fights."
