Chris Eubank Sr., father and trainer of British middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. (22-1, 17 KOs), says there is no way that his son would lose a fight with IBO/IBF/WBC/WBA middleweight world champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs).

Eubank's promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, is in deep negotiations with Tom Loeffler, who promotes Golovkin, to stage the fight in the fall at a UK stadium venue. A September date is being discussed between both sides.

Eubank will return on Saturday night, when he faces his British title against Tom Doran (17-0) at the O2 Arena in London. The fight will be part of the undercard to Anthony Joshua vs. Dominic Breazeale.

Eubank Sr. is confident that his son is by far more skilled than Golovkin and backs him 100% to make a big statement if the two boxers step in the ring with each other.

"I was hearing some critics saying 'I wouldn't be so surprised if junior does beat him'. I wouldn't be surprised. There is no way he is supposed to lose to Golovkin, no way," Eubank Sr. told Sky Sports.

"The same with [Billy Joe] Saunders. No way he was supposed to lose to Saunders. He gave away the first six rounds. He's not going to do that anymore. These men are in danger - that's my view. My credibility is on the line. Am I talking nonsense? No. When you have my type of background and my type of accomplishments in boxing, you just cannot say that I don't know what I'm talking about."

"Every person we fight, a strategy or a style has to be used. Golovkin is just another man. He wakes up in the morning just like junior. He has to brush his teeth, he has to have breakfast, he thinks, he feels. Junior is no different. With junior's imagination and his ability, his energy, that brilliance he has with that process of being a pressure fighter that he is… prove me wrong."
