Middleweight contender Chris Eubank Jr. explains that his new working relationship with trainer Brian "Bomac" McIntyre has raised his level of confidence.

"They have worked with Terence Crawford for many years and the results speak for themselves," Eubank told Sky Sports.

"Crawford is one of the pound-for-pound greats at the moment and that gives me a lot of encouragement and a lot of confidence in the team that I have around me. What they are doing or what they have done, it's been tried, tested and proven at the highest levels."

Earlier this year, Liam Smith pulled off a shocker when he knocked out Eubank in four rounds.

On September 2 in Manchester, the two boxers will meet for a second time.

In the first bout, Eubank was trained by former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr.

McIntyre is best known for his work with undisputed welterweight champion Terence Crawford.

Smith is not concerned about Eubank's training addition.

He believes Eubank's ego will get in the way of making improvements, but Eubank disagrees with that claim.

"Being trained is not about ego. If I'm going to pay money for somebody to work with me, I'm going to listen. I'm not an idiot. If I'm not going to listen to somebody why am I going to pay? Why am I going to have you around me? I don't want to waste my time, I don't want to waste other people's time," Eubank said.

"So it makes no sense to say anything like that. If I say you're going to train me, you're my trainer, you're my team, then I'm going to listen. It's part of the game. For many years I didn't have that element. I just did what I wanted to do. I trained when I wanted to train, I trained how I wanted to train. I didn't have an infrastructure. Now we have that and I'm seeing the benefits for sure."
