Ryan Garcia has made it clear that he wants to next fight Gervonta Davis.

The two recently exchanged some trash talk and banter on Mike Tyson’s podcast, and momentum toward a meeting slowly continues to build.

Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe plans on presenting the star of his stable in Davis the most mouth-watering matchups moving forward following his devastating knockout of Leo Santa Cruz last October.

“Gervonta is going to fight in the biggest fights possible in 2021. He wants to fight anyone that we put in front of him. He’s willing to fight anybody,” Ellerbe told BoxingScene.com in an interview. “It’s great for the sport that [all of the 135 pounders] want to fight one another. A fight with Tank and Ryan will be the biggest fight in the sport, period. It’s not even close.

“Garcia beat a very good fighter in Luke Campbell. He went through a little adversity in the fight and it just shows you what he is made of. He’s made it known to the world that he wants to fight Tank, and that’s a great thing. It’s a tremendous matchup. Tank is the top dog and biggest name at 130 and 135 pounds. He’s the cash cow.”

A lot of chatter has unfolded following Garcia’s resounding win over Campbell to kick off the year when he recovered from a vicious knockdown to score a seventh-round knockout.

Garcia tweeted “fight to be announced real soon” on Jan. 18 and Davis responded “you must know some s--- I don’t.” Garcia then responded “you’re a grown man, make a call and find out.” Davis responded, “say less, b----!”

Ultimately it will be up to Ellerbe and Garcia promoter Oscar De La Hoya to make the fight more than a social media pipedream.

When asked if negotiations with De La Hoya had already kicked off, Ellerbe preferred not to get into too much specifics.

“I don’t want to get into details about anything because the quickest way to not make a fight is to talk about it before you can even get it done,” said Ellerbe. “We’ve been extremely successful putting on the biggest events in the history of the sport by not talking about it in the public prior to it happening. We’ll let all of the other promoters do that kind of stuff. We work behind the scenes and execute. I don’t want to speculate or do anything like that. Both Gervonta and Ryan want to fight each other, and I will leave it at it. We want to make the biggest fights possible. Mayweather Promotions does not have a problem working with anybody. We’re calling our shots, though.”
