Concerns have been raised around Gervonta Davis’ discipline in recent years surrounding his ability to make weight, as well as his legal issues outside of the sport.

For his last fight against Leo Santa Cruz, the 26-year-old Baltimore-bred boxer moved his camp to Las Vegas for the first time in his career and even hired a nutritionist and personal chef.

Davis will move up yet another weight class and fight Mario Barrios on June 26 on Showtime pay-per-view ($69.99) at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Much like last time, Davis is back at the Mayweather Boxing Club to train for the upcoming bout.

Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe said he’s elated that his prizefighter has made a decision to make Sin City his new home for preparation.

“As a promoter, as they say, I am tickled to death. I am extremely pleased. I’m proud of him. He made a boss decision to put himself in the best place so he can get the most out of himself,” Ellerbe told BoxingScene.com in an interview.

“He’s completely moved himself from any distraction. People say ‘Las Vegas has all of the distractions in the world.’ Tank is not out there in the night life. He’s spending down time at his house with his team. He has a tremendous team. He’s out here on a mission doing three-a-day workouts. He’s locked all the way in, just like the last camp he had preparing for Leo Santa Cruz. Las Vegas has offered him an environment where he can focus one-thousand percent at the task at hand and get in the best shape that he possibly can to go out there and do his thing against Barrios. He’s in great shape. He’s ready to go.”

Davis (24-0, 23 KOs) is coming off a sixth-round knockout of Santa Cruz in October when he made his pay-view-debut from the Alamodome in San Antonio.

On the undercard of that fight, Barrios (26-0, 17 KOs) also scored a sixth-round knockout of Ryan Karl.
