Eleider Alvarez, Zewski, Rivas, Beterbiev Win Bouts

Bell Centre, Montreal, Bell Centre - In a tougher than expected contest, Eleider Alvarez (14-0, 8KO's) won a ten round unanimous decision over late replacement, and previously undefeated, Andy Gardiner (10-1, 6KO's). The scores were 99-91, 96-83 and 97-93.

Undefeated welterweight contender Mikael Zewski (23-0, 18KOs) stopped Krzystof Szot (18-10-1, 5KOs) in the seventh. Szot went down to a knee in the fifth and the seventh before it was waved off.

Heavyweight prospect Oscar Rivas (13-0, 8KOs) was finally back after a year layoff and pounded out Shawn Cox (16-5, 15KOs) in three rounds. Cox was down twice in the second and again in the third before the referee waved it off.

Light heavyweight prospect Artur Beterbiev (4-0, 4KO’s) continued his undefeated march with a fourth round stoppage of veteran journeyman Gabriel Lecrosnier (16-26-3, 1KO). Beterbiev took his foot off the gas and boxed to get some rounds in, but when he let his hands go in the fourth it was over.
