As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, Promociones del Pueblo and Golden Boy Promotions have announced a partnership agreement to launch and propel wunderkind Eduardo “Rocky” Hernández in the United States together, so as to fast track him into the ring with WBC champion Miguel “Alacran” Berchelt.
Although the young boxer was supposed to make his debut in the United States in late February, his coach Isaac Bustos revealed in an interview with the sports newspaper “ESTO” that his debut date in the United States will now take place on March 16.
The prodigious and powerful 21-year-old is the 130-pound WBC Youth world champion, title which he has successfully defended five times.
His veteran trainer is very impressed with the boxer's level of progress in the last few years.
"Rocky is a boy who`s made manly progress. Every time he surprises us more and more. I'm sure that his debut in the United States, on March 16, will be successful,” said coach Bustos, who`s in a position to know, as himself is a former WBC minimumweight champion.
“We all know and revere his huge punch power. He has shown and employed it with the rivals he has faced. We must also say that he not only hits tremendously hard, but he also knows how to box beautifully. Rocky is an amazing all round fighter.”
