Last week,'s Jake Donovan broke the news that WBA world super bantamweight champion Brandon Figueroa will return to the ring against Damien Vazquez later this summer.

According to our sources the fight card will likely land on August 22nd with August 29th and September 5th also as possibilities. The fights will be part of a Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on FS1 broadcast.

We have learned that a fight between the resurgent Diego Magdaleno (32-3) and Isaac Cruz (19-1-1) will also take place on one of those cards in a crossroads encounter where the winner moves up in the ranks.

Magdaleno earned a contract with Al Haymon's company after he upset Austin Dulay in February. In his previous fight he was stopped by Teofimo Lopez in 7 rounds. This will be Magdaleno's third attempt at a title. He has twice fought for a world title, losing a split decision against Rocky Martinez and was stopped by Terry Flanaga.

Cruz has also fought once this year, winning a majority decision over Thomas Mattice in February.  He has won 8 bouts in a row since a 2017 draw against Jose Calyecac. He also holds a 2018 knockout victory over former title challenger Jose Felix Jr.
