LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND – The promising Jack Turner made light work of the experienced Ryan Farrag by stopping him inside two rounds and recording the biggest win of his career.

The junior-bantamweight contest, at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena and the chief support to Nick Ball-TJ Doheny, was seen as a big step up for the inexperienced Turner, but he looked levels above the helpless Farrag. The former European champion was no match for the speed and power of Turner, and was stopped after 41 seconds of round two.

Turner, 11-0 (10 KOs), came out for the first with respect for his older opponent, not committing too early, and wary of anything Farrag, 23-6 (6 KOs), may possess. Late into the round, Turner, 23, had seen enough, and came in with bad intentions. He whipped in his trademark thunderous punches and a right hand seemed to daze the helpless Farrag.

Luckily for Farrag, 37, the bell sounded as Turner was about to finish the job and the pair returned to their respective stools. Farrag came out for the second gingerly and Turner smelt blood. He pinned the helpless Farrag into a corner and let out another wild burst of hooks. Two rights landed on the forehead of Farrag, and his eyes seemed to roll back into his head. Farrag was actually being kept up by Turner’s punches, and the referee Steve Gray was forced to leap to his aid before more damage could be done.

Farrag was kneeling on the floor, unsure of his surroundings. Turner sprung to the top rope to celebrate yet another emphatic stoppage victory.
