Haye Hopes To Recover, Return, Leave as Champion

David Haye has been in attendance at a few boxing events but it appears it will be some time until we will be able to see him inside a ring. Haye suffered a shoulder injury last year which forced him to pull out of a scheduled fight with Tyson Fury and has left him sidelined and unsure if his boxing career will continue. The outspoken former WBA Heavyweight champion was last seen in 2012 when he disposed of Dereck Chisora in 5 rounds and now almost 2 years later, Haye’s return to the ring is bleak and uncertain.

David Haye was in attendance at the Bermane Stiverne and Chris Arreola heavyweight showdown where Stiverne prevailed and was crowned with the WBC title that was vacated by Vitali Klitschko. The Klitschko’s have held the heavyweight division hostage for years as they were in possession of all four major titles but now Vitali has retired and Wladimir’s reign is seemingly coming closer to the end. Haye has always managed to add flare to the division with his outspoken ways and ability to draw attention whenever he fought. Unfortunately for him, he’s currently sidelined after a shoulder injury that required reconstructive surgery and is still in the rehabilitation process.

Even a week after Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana fought in an exciting Welterweight unification bout, fighters are still weighing in their opinions on the match. Mayweather was tested more than he has been in recent fights as a relentless Maidana applied constant pressure for 12 rounds. Mayweather however still prevailed as he added another title to his ledger and kept his undefeated record intact with a majority decision victory.

Former WBA Heavyweight champion David Haye may not be able to fight at the moment due to rehabbing his injured shoulder which forced him to withdrawal from a fight with Tyson Fury last year but he was ringside to witness the heavyweight clash between Bermane Stiverne and Chris Arreola this past Saturday night. Haye assured he was not there to scout an opponent and was there to support BJ Flores who fought on the undercard of the main event. After Stiverne knocked Arreola out in the 6th round, BoxingScene immediately spoke with Haye to get his thoughts regarding a possible showdown between Stiverne and the mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder.

The boxer is one of the celebrities signed up to the new show, which challenges pairs of famous faces to blow £10,000 in 24 hours with strict rules on how it can be spent.

There will be plenty of heavyweights in the house on Saturday night at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California. David Haye and Deontay Wilder reunited during the media functions to promote Saturday's rematch between Bermane Stiverne and Chris Arreola, who battle for the vacant WBC heavyweight crown. Haye had previously used Wilder as a sparring partner for the twice canceled fight with Tyson Fury. Haye, and cruiserweight Joell Godfrey, will be ringside to support cruiserweight contender BJ Flores, who returns to action on Saturday's undercard. Wilder, who the WBC appointed as the mandatory challenger to the crown, will get first crack at the Stiverne-Arreola winner.

David Haye hinted once again that he may yet have a future in boxing in an update on his shoulder injury. The former WBA heavyweight champion required reconstructive surgery on his right shoulder after injuring it in training for February's ill-fated clash with Tyson Fury. The 33-year-old was told by doctors to 'seriously consider retirement' following November's five-hour operation, with Haye admitting; "If I'm now destined to have won the European Championship, the unified World Cruiserweight Championship and the WBA Heavyweight Championship of the world...then so be it."
