The World Boxing Council has announced that Danny “Swift” Garcia vs. Adrian Granados has been sanctioned for the WBC Silver welterweight title.
The contest will headline a Premier Boxing Champions on FOX event on Saturday, April 20, at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
Garcia (34-2, 20 KOs), a two division world champion, has fought and defeated several top opponents at 140 and 147 pounds - including Erik Morales, Zab Judah, Kendall Holt, Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse, Paulie Malignaggi and Lamont Peterson.
Fighting out of Cicero, Illinois, Granados (20-6-2, 14 KOs) has made a name for himself by offering action-packed fights against quality fighters, including Shawn Porter and Adrien Broner.
The current WBC welterweight champion is Shawn Porter, who over the weekend retained the belt with a split decision over Yordenis Ugas. Porter captured the title last year with a twelve round decision over Danny Garcia.

The production for Fight Night at the Avalon is already underway, as it will be a glorious night of featuring A-List celebrities and entertainment with all the stars coming out for the fight that is situated at a beautiful Hollywood venue that will kick off with a red carpet showcase and live music leading up to Giezwa's main-event fight, as well as very good talent on the undercard such as Nico Ali, the grandson of Muhammad Ali.
