CRAIG McEwan 19-1 (10) is used to keeping good company with years spent at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles.

Scottish middleweight Craig McEwan flew into Mexico City from Edinburgh this morning two weeks ahead of his 5th of November HBO televised showdown in Cancun with Brooklyn's Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin. McEwan has agreed to spar with Mexico's Alfredo Angulo who fights James Kirkland in the WBO light middleweight eliminator which tops the bill.

It appears that unbeaten middleweight Peter Quillin (25-0, 19 KOs) will make his HBO debut as the co-feature to Alfredo Angulo vs. James Kirkland when he meets Scottish southpaw Craig McEwan (19-1, 10 KOs) in Cancun on Nov. 5.

LOS ANGELES - Known for its dazzling beaches and as a vacation destination for millions, Cancun, Mexico will be turned into a fight town on Saturday, November 5, when Golden Boy Promotions and Periodico QueQui (Pepe Gomez) will bring one of the most anticipated bouts in recent years to the Cancun Center, where junior middleweight sluggers Alfredo "Perro" Angulo and James "Mandingo Warrior" Kirkland will engage in what is already anticipated to be a 2011 Fight of the Year candidate live on HBO's Boxing After Dark. Also on tap for this boxing extravaganza is a middleweight clash between two fighters battling for a spot in the top ten, undefeated rising star Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin and the always tough contender Craig McEwan.

Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin is slated to make his HBO debut on Nov. 5 in Mexico against Craig McEwan, the co-feature to Alfredo Angulo-James Kirkland match. It’s the kind of opportunity Quillin (25-0, 19 KOs) has been waiting for.

A merry-go-round is in motion as to who Peter Quillin may be fighting next, in what would be his fourth contest this year.

It’s now getting to the stage where Edinburgh’s Craig McEwan has had more fights fall through than he’s actually been involved in since his thrilling tenth round stoppage loss to Andy Lee.

Middleweight contender Craig McEwan was preparing to fight former champion Kassim Ouma on the non-televised portion of the Floyd Mayweather-Victor Ortiz undercard, which takes place this coming Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. McEwan says the fight was canceled after Ouma requested additional money at the late hour. Golden Boy Promotions will attempt to place McEwan on a UK event being staged by promoter Frank Warren in November.

In April of 2009, the career of Kassim ‘The Dream’ Ouma was an afterthought to many.

Junior middleweight Craig McEwan (19-1, 10KOs) tells the Edinburgh Evening News that his next scheduled fight will take place on the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Victor Ortiz undercard on September 17th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. McEwan will face former IBF champion Kassim Ouma (27-8-1, 17KOs). In his last fight, Ouma lost a spirited effort against WBA "regular" middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin. Ouma was stopped in the tenth and went to the hospital afterwards. McEwan returns from his March knockout loss to Andy Lee. Ouma is sparring with Mayweather in Las Vegas.
