They mentioned James Kirkland, Alfredo Angulo and Ishe Smith. It was special with Ishe because not only did they say I could fight him, but they said I could fight him in Detroit. That was an easy decision for me to make and now we are here. "Not only am I getting paid, but I am getting paid to fight right here in Detroit. How great is that?

BoxingScene.com has been advised by IBF junior middleweight champion Cornelius "K9" Bundrage (32-4, 19KOs) that he reached a promotional agreement with Golden Boy Promotions. "Christmas came early this year! No Berto, no worries! I've been offered fights with Kirkland and Angulo. Somebody in trouble (bark bark)!" Exclaimed Bundrage. Bundrage previously had been promoted by Don King but the contract ran out and K9 became a free agent. In his last fight which took place in June in California, K9 successfully defended his title by stopping former champion Cory Spinks in seventh round of their rematch. Golden Boy had won the purse bid and promoted the fight.
