Connor Coyle Breaks From Roy Jones, Becomes Free Agent

Unbeaten middleweight prospect Connor Coyle (12-0, 5 KOs) has become a free agent after parting ways with Roy Jones' promotional company.

Coyle, through his pact with Jones, was getting featured on UFC Fight Pass cards, but he's been inactive since January of 2020.

After fighting three times in 2019, he saw action a year ago when he stopped Miguel Dumas in the first round.

The 30-year-old wants to become more active, but he's unable to get in the United States due to the current COVID-19 restrictions.

Because of those factors, the split with Jones was amicable and now the Irish fighter aims to write the next chapter of his career.

Ironically, the boxer has a March 12 date in Florida set aside for his next ring return - but because he's a free agent it will allow him to fight in the UK or elsewhere if he's prevented from entering the United States.

“I’m a free agent now. I couldn’t get anything going all year as I had a contract and couldn’t get in to America because they weren’t letting anyone in," Coyle told Irish Boxing.

“My visa is on the last process to being granted now, so hopefully I’m out of here next month to Saint Petersburg. If there is still issues with the visa, at least I’m flexible now to talk to other promoters to get on other cards to keep active. I’ve left Roy on great terms. I could possibly still get to fight on their shows in the near future, but for now, being flexible is best for my career.”

I saw his last fight live, his opponent dislocated his shoulder at the end of the round. That sounded nasty lol
