In an anomaly among boxing broadcasts, ESPN drew its peak audience Saturday night during the first of three fights it televised from Madison Square Garden. Helped by formidable lead-in programming, ESPN’s Heisman Trophy telecast, the three-bout broadcast headlined by Terence Crawford and Egidjius Kavaliauskas peaked long before the main event began. A peak audience of 1,648,000 watched the early part of the Michael Conlan-Vladimir Nikitin featherweight fight.

Michael Conlan Gets Revenge, Decisions Vladimir Nikitin
NEW YORK – This time, the judges gave Michael Conlan the credit he deserved and then some. The undefeated featherweight prospect defeated rival Vladimir Nikitin by unanimous decision in their 10-round fight Saturday night to avenge his outrageous Olympic loss three years ago. Though Conlan came on late in their fight, it was Nikitin who seemingly deserved better than he got on the scorecards at Madison Square Garden.

Conlan: I'm Ready To Go Out There & Destroy Nikitin!
NEW YORK – Three years after suffering one of the most infamous Olympic losses in boxing history, Michael Conlan can’t afford to take a personal approach to his rematch versus Vladimir Nikitin. The featherweight prospect from Northern Ireland is trying his best to treat their 10-round, 126-pound bout Saturday night the same as his first 12 professional fights. Otherwise, Conlan could make their third encounter a much more difficult fight than he thinks it should be on the Terence Crawford-Egidijus Kavaliauskas undercard at Madison Square Garden.

Conlan Views Nikitin Rematch as Best Christmas Present
By Thomas Gerbasi - It was the perfect ending to the first chapter of Mick Conlan’s professional boxing career and he agreed. Fighting at home in Belfast in front of a packed house at Falls Park in August, Conlan improved to 12-0 as a pro with a ninth-round stoppage of Diego Alberto Ruiz, and with spots in the top 15 of all four major sanctioning...
