Usyk weighs in heaviest of his entire career at 233 lbs. Could his legs fail him at heavyweight like they eventually did with David Haye? | BoxingScene Community
After David Haye moved up to heavyweight he started to sustain more and more injuries, many of which were foot & leg-related. Most famously the "injured toe" incident in the Wladimir Klitschko fight. And then the gruesome ruptured Achilles tendon in the Bellew fight which Haye somehow battled through during the bout until his foot started to collapse in on itself. Possibly his increased weight combined with his desire to replicate the same footwork and movement which he had at cruiserweight was somewhat contributory towards the injuries. Usyk may now be on a similar trajectory as Haye weighing in at 233.3 lbs - the heaviest of his entire career.
Could Usyk potentially fall victim to the same sort of injuries as Haye, now that he's gained over 30 pounds since his cruiserweight days?
