Two Articles in the front page talking about how Froid is broke and suing showtime and they each have less than 5 pages worth of comments. In a whole day no less.
In 2024 before it got bought by the new idiots it would take maybe an hour for those articles to have like 10 pages of the posters going back and forth and using their alts about how hes not broke and everyone is just hating.
Yeah this site is dunzo
It's the annoying videos taking up half the page all the bot threads. The site absolutely crawls anymore.
The mods allowed a lot of these insane people to just post whatever they wanted to on here. Complete trolling and just a mix of the horrible culture of the younger generation. Just take a look at the guys in the lounge. No one wants to be around that stuff.
This site reminds me of a Blue State. Everyone just packed their things up and moved.
I dont think Probox killed boxingscene i think they are doing a great job marketing boxingscene on youtube along side their probox channel even though I think it can be a conflict of interest, a boxing promoting company kinda owning a boxing news website or vice versa. Kinda the situation with the Ring and now Zuffa.
I think boxingscene started to get ****** when it was sold to cbs ? Too much censorship. Once you start censoring people then I think an agenda is starting to get push unless its online bullying or hate speech. I first found out about boxingscene maybe in 2015? After I left ESPN Boxing page. Now that was fun and wild until espn made all users sign into your Facebook account to comment. That killed espn boxing page.
Boxingscene.com needs to chill with the pop-ups though and why is it so laggy ?
Presumably because it scared off all the edgelords like Teddy A. and jackson414 because they don't like the idea of being accountable for their behaviour.

I'm not convinced that guy isn't part of pro-box, he says this sort of bull**** in the lounge too
You're just salty about the number of bans you've had due to your own imbecility. You clearly enjoy the attention you get here for behaviour which is considered normal on places like 4chan. Do you even watch boxing?
Whether you like it or not it brings traffic.
Lol your a joke

Valid points, but neither you nor I know whether web traffic is up or down for a random sample of NSB articles. You contend that readership is unchanged and yet for some unclear reason the 'edgelords' have disappeared. It could just as likely be that readership is down and commenting is down.
Beyond that, most of the passionate commentary leading to argument could be interpreted as boxing attracting engaged fans. Engaged fans are the ones who drag their mates to watch fights and get others interested. I know that I have done that in the past. If that's not happening now then it doesn't bode well for the future of boxing. This may well tie in with HBO and GBP finding it difficult to maintain/attract broadcast deals.
Or it could be interpreted as that subset of mentally ill men who make their presence known on forums, social media and comment sections across the internet, some of whom happen to be interested in boxing.
And the pages full of spam articles.
And the popups that fill the screen.
On desktop, the site won't even work without disabling your adblocker.
I barely come by anymore, and this garbage keeps me away even more than the weird socially inept genx commenters.
we saw the changes right away, when the site was taken over. Suddenly no stickies of current cards so people could follow, then banning a bunch of words, etc. etc.
I go to reddit now when i feel like reading boxing articles
I had same issue with Adblock Plus - Ublock Origin works better for this site, it won't give you that popup.

Downfall started when it was sold and the censoring/banning campaign began in the lounge. On top of the site now constantly crashing / being down and the constant spamming in the Non-Stop boxing side of things.
You're looking for a confrontation where it isn't necessary. Me choosing to comment on articles doesn't change the fact I'm in a minority and that this is understood by people who run websites with high engagement. Many writers, wisely, choose not to read BTL (below the line) comments because it impacts their writing too much when the people commenting represent a tiny part of total audience.
Many of the mega threads here were brimming with imbecility and vulgar language which one had to wade through to read anything worthwhile. The owners presumably don't want that rubbish accompanying their articles on the front page and who can blame them? The edgelords had a good run and ruined it for themselves with their excesses and immaturity.
i agree completely. i like it more when there's less activity. there was a time when i lost 2-3 hours daily on 3 forums because of the bolded part. it was ridiculous.

says the one who comments on most articles. There's any number of boxing sites that just create an article out of boxing news; just a print form of an echo chamber. But there are those of us who like to engage with other posters. Posting is dropping right off on this site - for various reasons. It used to be an active community even just 5 years ago.

Because they're effectively celebrity gossip at this point. Plus, forum engagement is a tiny part of the actual engagement with articles. Same as comment sections generally.

Fvkcing ridiculous! Its not even funny.
Being forced to listen Paulie and Chris's stupid fvkcing takes.
How are they lame?

Those types of thread were lame so no great loss there. What would help is people attempting to make some interesting, boxing related threads.
How are they lame? Froid going broke articles (actual articles) not just nsb ones used to draw attention. The fact that it doesn't now shows how far this site has fallen
